GENERAL INFO
Developed in: 2006, 3rd semester of Digital Games Graduation
Platform: PC.
What I did: This demo was developed by 3 people: Vinicius N. as the main programmer, Christoffer J. the 2D and concept artist and me as the Game Designer, Art Director and Producer (writing, creating and editing every document demanded by the milestones - even Use and Class diagrams, CD case art and the Graphic Interface Project - colors, position for each element, Look and feel, Buttons, Navegational diagram). It is by far the most complete game design idea I worked on because there were others doing art and programming.
Resume: Ernesto de Los Rios, a bartender, sunddenly inherits a ship from his missing and declared dead uncle, an awkward but welcome gift since he barely had a place to sleep. After a night inside the ship, Ernesto wakes up in a strange place, where the sea and the sky have different colors and there's nothing besides water. He soon sees a man on a boat that reveals they're trapped inside the Bermuda Triangle dimension from where only one man escaped: Ernesto's uncle.
Gameplay goals: Adventure game, lots of exploration and fun combats. The goal is to uncover the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle dimension while fighting against pirates and strange monsters. The player is able to control both Ernesto (on land) and his ship (while water traveling) using the mouse and the keyboard. |

GAMEPLAY
Controls: Mouse: Rotates the camera and interacts with in-game menus, options and buttons. Keyboard: Character movement and action button.
Description: The Bermuda dimension is composed by a set of islands that must be explored. While on water, Ernesto will use his ship to travel and battle using cannons. While on earth, he can collect and use itens and walk around interacting with objects and NPCs who'll give clues about the mystery and the path to be followed. |

ABOUT THE APP - Link soon
Tecnologies/Tools: Ogre SDK, Visual Studio 7.1, FMOD Ex4.04, Photoshop 7.0, Maya 7.
Notes: The demo is really simple. We were learning game engines by the time and so we had to learn and integrate Ogre, FMOD, Python scripts and CEGUI using C++.
Other possibilities: I won't ruin all the mystery, but basically the main plot of the history is about 7 "items" which have unlimited ways to be used. Besides that, we have an entire archipelago full of pirates, caves, treasures, tools, fortresses and sea monsters to create entertaining side stories. I really wish I had a good and big group of people to work on this project.
